GoalQuest Soccer Training is dedicated to improving the skills of youth players. The program's founder, Chris Johnson, is regionally recognized as having successfully trained and mentored dozens of Division I college players. Coach Johnson uses diverse coaching staff, including Division I college athletes, to assist him in developing young athletes, all of whom are talented athletes, passionate about youth soccer and player development, and share their extensive experience and knowledge with players.

GoalQuest's player development philosophy is based on careful training and support with a focus on personal, individualized training. Players will get better with focused training. GoalQuest staff help players master fundamental skills that allow them to perform with confidence while on the playing field.

Program Offerings

GOALQUEST ACADEMY

GoalQuest Academy focuses on training for the early stages of development--youth ages 7 to 11. The Academy prepares youth for the team-game setting, and stresses the fundamentals:

  • Passing
  • Trapping
  • Dribbling, and
  • FUN
INDIVIDUAL TRAINING

Reaching full potential is the objective of GoalQuest's personal training. Coach Johnson works as the player's partner in determining a training plan—taking into consideration the player's goals, abilities, capabilities, and motivation. His hands-on approach is designed to enhance each player's potential and skills set.

Training programs can be devised to increase player speed, strength, stamina, quickness, skill, and coordination. Once a plan is developed, it is reviewed with the player. Parents are encouraged to discuss the program with Coach Johnson and frequent parent parent meetings are held to review player progress.

GROUP TRAINING

Specialized training for the player who wants to improve his/her "team play." This training stresses tactics, implementation of personal skills, and applying one's own talent set for team game purposes. Sessions focus on such topics as:

  • Situational Decisionmaking
TEAM TRAINING

GoalQuest offers year-round team training support to many local club teams. Programs can be geared to all levels of play, including training for the elite player.

Programs are designed by Coach Johnson after consultation with the team's coaching staff and observation of team play. The tailored program focuses on identifed team needs and objectives. Weekly training sessions are designed to achieve success in team development, technical abilities, and match play. Players also received routine evaluations designed to assess player strengths and weaknesses and provide strategies for improvement.
